August has been all about the Covered Bridge Classic. Thank You LBC, for being the best event hosts you can possibly be. Photos of the event are now available under the photo album menu of our website.

The CBC had 1300 registered riders. This is about 100 less registrations then the prior year and the weather forecast kept approx. 30% of those registrants away. We can still call this year's event a success.

We battled a rainy weather week to get our roads painted. We had a beautiful week leading up to the CBC, but were forecasted for rain the weekend of the event. The weather held out for Saturday as our site captains loaded up their rest stop supplies. Sunday was overcast, temps in the mid-70s and some mist from time to time, but overall, we had very good weather for the event.

We do not control the weather but you knocked it out of the park for the part we do control. The feedback from this year's participants is very positive. We improved our two top survey ratings to 90% by offering a variety of lunch foods at all sites rather than trying to assign a lunch stop. This idea came out of our Site Captain meetings and reviewing of last year's rider surveys.

You supported the club with over 500 hours of volunteering across 125 volunteer positions. All of the volunteer positions are 3-6 hours except for the Site Captains who give the whole weekend to make the event successful. We will continue to try to balance this.

We have many members who donate volunteer hours and pay to ride as a participant. A special shout out to our families who also helped to support the event. We had children, grandchildren, spouses, girlfriends, boyfriends. We see many club alumni coming out to support this event. We hear repeatedly how much fun it is. Thank You for serving. You can still complete the Volunteer Survey This helps us see areas for improvement and make adjustments to give you a better volunteer experience.

We were fortunate to have had a relatively boring day in SAG. We had one rider go to the ER, received stitches, cleaned up the road rash, was released and traveled home that same day.

We had support from the following donors and sponsors. These donations allow us to provide the best ride in the area at a value that cannot be beat.

Wegmans provided almost $4000 worth of food and Ice. This is relationship that has been in place since 2017.
Herrs Snacks provide over 1500 servings of Chips and Cheese Puffs.
UPMC sponsors us financially.
Shady Maple continues to support us with a popular start location, buffet coupons and Shady Maple RV provided the water hoses when we migrated to our current post-COVID format.
Unique Snacks provides over 200 bags of their Unique original splits pretzels.
Hershey provided a sweet offering for our riders with Payday bars.
LMNT provided 1500 hydration sticks for those who do not like Gatorade.
Four Seasons produce provided Bananas
The Restaurant Store donated a Hot Dog roller grill, hot dog buns, and paper products.
Oregon Dairy gave us two $100 gift cards that provided us with Chocolate Milk and Hot Dogs.
Sauder Eggs provided the hard boiled eggs, a popular riding food, and Red Beet Eggs, a popular local food.
Kates Real Food was new this year. They sent us 1500 bars.
Sunbutter was our first rest stop food donor in 2021 and continues to send us cups each year.
Stoltzfus Meats gave us over 500 servings of meat sticks.
QBP provided an assortment of bars, hydration sticks and shot blocks.
Sams Club York provided 1500 mini-cokes.
Corropolese was a new very popular addition this year. They donated four pies and sold us what we needed at wholesale price.
Dynamite Dill and Kathryn Pearce donated ten gallons of pickle juice this year.
Redners Markets gave us $30 in gift cards that helped offset the cost of cookies.
Dutch Country Pretzels gave us a 50% discount on the best pretzel sticks around.
AFP gave us use of a van and a small refrigerator, donated Choc Fudge pudding, and allowed us to dispose of trash and recycling.

We were supported by four local Bike Shops. Lancaster Bicycle Shop; Trek Lancaster; Going Rogue Cyclery, and The Common Wheel.

Our ride gives back to the community.

We had an excess of food that was donated to two local food banks, the Three Creek Century (your can still sign up for this ride), Lifecycles, and was made available for the volunteers at our picnic.

We donated $1200 to local Fire Companies for traffic control. Our participants donated over $1000 for covered bridge maintenance which was passed on to the county.

The club netted approx. $37000. The funds raised from the event go back to the community through our riding programs and our grant program.

It was a pleasure to see how much fun our customer's have and to see how much fun you had serving them.
